I was going so well with my No Buy July (read post here ) and was hitting a successful, well almost a successful run with August and then……the SALES struck!
Sephora with their 15% (I am no ‘VIB’) and Ulta with their 20%. I was wishing the sales would be in November, alas not.
It was now or never(ish) so it had to be now, at the cost of my No Buy FAIL.
I had run out of acid toners and am in dire need of a mineral sunscreen. From Ulta I bought the Tula Pro-Glycolic 10% pH Resurfacing Gel and the FIRST AID BEAUTY Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF40
The Tula is a light gel that I apply like a serum over my face. The website advises to use with a cotton pad, but it’s a wee bit too thick for that.
I had used up two bottle of the Pixiglow tonic, did not have an aha moment with the clarity of my skin, nor did angels sing from the heavens above, so I decided to try a different glycolic acid, hence the Tula one.
From Sephora I ordered the TARTE Knockout Tingling Treatment. Arriving end of this week. I have mentioned these and more in my previous wishlist post here
And then I did something naughty. I bought the BH cosmetics Take me back to Brazil palette from Ulta.
I was dyyyying for an all bright mostly matte palette and while I did not need a palette, look at these bright colours. Add to that 20% off. ‘It wasn’t my fault milord!.’
I have been playing with the palette and having fun.
Will write a more complete first impressions in next post.
Closing Note: While my No Buy has kinda fallen flat on it’s face this month I intend to continue right upto September. Even when I am on holiday in the UK….the home of Makeup Revolution, Charlotte Tilbury…..and Boots.
